Job Outlook Information

You should not make a decision to pursue any career without going first to the U.S. Department of Labor's fabulous web site at http://www.bls.gov/oco.  This location contains the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Handbook and has detailed information on occupations.  The data the bureau gathers on the occupations includes the nature of the work, working conditions, job outlook and salary.  This information will also allow you to compare different occupations.  Here is the link that goes directly to the information on lawyers: http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos053.htm.
Remember the number we arrived at when calculating the actual cost of attending law school?  Here's where you can put that number to use.  The Department of Labor site will quote salary information allowing you to calculate how long it will take to recapture the money invested in a legal education.
